Lately I’ve been feeling like a bit of a short order cook. I’m trying to make three meals a day, keep things interesting, AND stick to my wellness goals. It’s a challenge to say the least. We’ve been making the most of our time at home together and thought I’d share an activity we did with the kids that they really enjoyed! Unicorn sensory bubbles 🦄These are so easy to make and you’ll get a good hour of play out of them!⁣

We made it using our @VitamixCA Ascent A3500 blender, dish soap (or kids bubble bath), filtered water and food colouring. Simply add 3/4 cup of water, 3 tbsp of dish soap and 5-7 drops of food colouring of your choice and blend on variable speed 10 for 15-20 seconds. Add bubbles to one side of your sink or bin and then repeat with a different colour and layer beside it until your sink is full. That’s it! Super easy and fun sensory activity for your kids to enjoy and they’ll get about an hours worth of play time out of it 🙌🏼⁣

Who else has been cooking up a storm lately? 🙋🏼‍♀️ to be honest it’s really helped take my mind off of everything going on and I’ve found it to be quite cathartic and relaxing. The fam and I had a hankering for nachos last week and we came up with these DELICIOUS Double Stacked Southwest Nachos 🤤 We used the @DelMonteCanada Southwest #cornmedley and it totally elevated the flavour thanks to its versatile blend of several ingredients. It makes this recipe quick and easy and ready to cook right away. Here’s the recipe if you’d like to give it a try:⁣

Ingredients:⁣
- Tortilla Chips⁣
- 1 Can Del Monte Southwest Style corn medley⁣
- 2 cups shredded chicken⁣
- 3 cups Tex Mex Shredded cheese⁣
- 1/2 cup diced grape tomatoes⁣
- 2 tbsp cilantro⁣
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning ⁣
- 1 tbsp olive oil⁣
- Serve with Sour Cream and Salsa⁣
⁣
Directions:⁣
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. ⁣
2. On low heat add Olive Oil to pan with shredded chicken. Stir until headed (about 2 minutes). Add taco seasoning and stir until coated. ⁣
3. Place a sheet or parchment paper on a large baking pan and start by covering the bottom with tortilla chips. Then layer 1/2 can of Southwest style corn medley, 1 cup of shredded chicken and top with 1 1/2 cups of cheese.⁣
4. Repeat with second layer of nachos and the same ingredients. ⁣
5. Place baking pan in the oven for 8 - 10 minutes until cheese is melted. ⁣
6. Garnish with Cilantro and Grape Tomatoes and serve with Sour Cream and Salsa. Enjoy!⁣

We have a few extra weeks at home with our kids and we plan on making the most of it and enjoy our time together as a family! I thought I’d share a fun, healthy snack recipe today that you can make with your littles for a movie night. This Creamy Avocado and Pea Hummus recipe is so delicious, I highly recommend giving it a try! It’s a great way to sneak those extra vegetables into your kids 😉 We simply blend the following ingredients in our @VitamixCA Ascent A3500 blender on speed 1 for 30 seconds and then increase the speed to the third setting until blended into a perfectly creamy texture.

Recipe:

1 cup of drained chickpeas
1 cup of frozen peas
2 avocados (peeled and cored)
3 tbsp avocado oil
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp tahini
1 clove of peeled garlic
Pinch of salt and pepper

That’s it! Our Vitamix A3500 blends this recipe up so quickly that it takes next to no time to make 🙌🏼 Now it’s time to enjoy with the fam! Let me know what you think if you give it a try #FeedYourLife #VitamixCanada #ad

I know staying home and keeping to yourself may no

I know staying home and keeping to yourself may not be ideal but given what we’re learning...it’s necessary. We all need to do our part and just stay home and only leave if we have to in order to keep everyone healthy. I’m looking at staying home with my kids for three weeks as a BLESSING and trying to focus on the positive. There’s enough anxiety in the air right now that looking at the silver lining helps lift the weight. I thought I’d share a few activity ideas that you can do with your kids at home and if you have any I’d LOVE to hear yours too! Drop them in the comments so we can all read and help each other out 🥰 ⁣
1. Plant a veggie/fruit garden (it’s a great time to start seeds inside)⁣
2. Sidewalk chalk in the back or front yard⁣
3. Activity/School workbooks (I know I’m no fun) 😜 ⁣
4. Have a lego building contest⁣
5. I saw @mayahoodblog had a picnic in the backyard and LOVED that idea. ⁣
6. Board games (guess who, beanboozeled, pie in the face and snakes and ladders are some of our favourites)⁣
7. A walk for fresh air (staying away from others)⁣
8. Build a fort, make a special snack and have a movie night⁣
9. Teach the kids some simple meals to cook⁣
10. Purge toys and clean rooms but try to make a game out of it lol you might need to humour me there but they do seem to enjoy it once they get started.
