Urban Playroom

urbanplayroom

We recently moved into our new home and I’ve been so excited to start decorating the boys playroom. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of baby blues and ballet pinks for boys and girls. They are both very popular colours for obvious reasons but the thought of being in a room filled with baby blue pastel just doesn’t appeal to me. Thankfully there are so many other colour palette options for kids now that I’m not stuck with the “go to” baby shades. Lately, I’ve been loving urban decor so I thought I would make a playroom inspiration board with my “must haves”:

1. Woodland Babe Raccoon – The Cross Design

2. Teepee – Pottery Barn Kids

3. Eco Cross Baby Blanket – Spearmint ♥

4. Tan Moroccan Leather Pouf – The Cross Design

5. Bold Arrow Indoor/Outdoor Rug – LuLu and Georgia

6. Harper Toss Cushion – Urban Barn

7. BlaBla Doll – Wooly The Sheep – The Cross Design

8. Oversized Long Shaggy Pillow – Pier 1 Imports

Love the Teepee & Raccoon. You do need some bright colours in there to liven up the space. It is a play room after all.

I love steering clear of the common pink and blues for baby rooms! I know some people that have been able to make it look good and not too “baby-y” but for me personally I just can’t imagine decorating that way! Right before we had our son we had big plans for decorating his room very cute but we were staying with family at the time and it just never worked out how we hoped! Now we are in a transition of moving again and I cannot wait til we are back in our own place so I can finally do his room how I am hoping!
