Taste Of Toronto

This weekend Cory and I packed up the kids and hit up the Taste of Toronto food festival. The Fort York National Historic Site was “transformed into a foodie wonderland for summer eating, drinking and entertaining”. I could never pass up the chance to sample gourmet dishes from fourteen of the city’s best restaurants…not to mention the many premium vendors also in attendance! Having the opportunity to speak with vendors and chefs thanks to the intimate environment made the experience that much better!

We spent the evening sampling delectable dishes, browsing the vendor booths and enjoying some of the attractions including the tasting room, cookery masterclass and Austin’s favourite – the music stage. Of course the food did not disappoint! Some of our favourite dishes included the Grilled Crab and Prawn Roll from THR & co – unbelievably good, the Tamarind Ceviche from El Caballito Los Colibris was heavenly, and lastly Austin’s pick was Weslodges Wagyu Hot Dog – because my four year old is fancy like that, haha!

I can now understand why Taste has been deemed the worlds greatest restaurant festival. We left feeling very full and inspired. I can’t wait to attend again next year!

  13. Taste of Edmonton is a yearly event that my 10 year old son, Evan and I attend. Open his eyes to different delicacies and staples from many cultural groups. We’ve never been to Toronto – a Via Rail trip looms in the future, would love to experience a Taste of Toronto – perhaps next year. Great review….looks like a fun filled afternoon with family and great food.
